We are an independent, not-for-profit professional body for Enterprise and Business Mentors. Our purpose is to inspire and champion excellence in Business Mentoring, to advance awareness and standards in the business mentoring profession, and to make a sustainable difference to mentors, the organisations and people that they help.
To position ABM members at the leading edge of mentoring whilst providing those seeking mentoring with the security of knowing they are dealing with a truly professional business mentor who shares the ethos of best practice and drawing on first hand experience.

Kerrie Dorman, Founder & COO
Kerrie Dorman has been a serial entrepreneur from the age of the 20. Her sole business is now business mentoring having experienced first-hand the importance of it whilst growing and selling her businesses. Founding the Association of Business Mentors was born from finding the repercussions of poor business advice received by business owners from business mentors and the
lack of a professional body to monitor such activity.
Raising the bar in business mentoring standards and promoting best practice while providing support to business mentors has become her mission alongside her colleagues at the association.

Simon Fordham, Chair
A serial businessman and entrepreneur, Simon is a generalist having started, led and sold a number of businesses and investments. Advising hotels, leisure, entertainment, restaurants, health, construction, property and refurbishment, he recently co-founded The Fordham Henderson Partnership offering mentoring, coaching and business advice services and leadership and management development training. He has developed The Business Start-Up Master Class and The Exceptional Leaders Programme and pioneered CEO round table talks for SME’s.
Simon is a speaker on business issues, motivation in business and writes for a business magazine, he has spoken on mentoring at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and Chelmsford and was a mentor for the Institute of Directors Young Enterprise Award Scheme, for which his team were the 2013 champions. He is a lead mentor with the Westminster Business Council and in 2013 received two nominations for the first annual Excellence in Enterprise Mentoring Awards sponsored by the British Banking Association and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, (BIS) for his assistance to start-ups. He is also general secretary for Connect London Business Growth Group, an angel network, a Growth Accelerator Coach and a start-up loans facilitator.

Dr Carlton Brown PHD, MBA
Carlton has an extremely strong track record of delivering sales, growth and profitability through innovation and strong leadership in both SME and large organisations. He has also founded his own million pound turnover business which he has managed to grow successfully. Carlton demonstrates the ability to deliver results through his dynamic, pragmatic and engaging approach to managing people and performance, in order to create shareholder value.
Carlton is a transformational leader who has extensive business experience in sales, marketing and general management. With 20 years experience at Director Level, Carlton has a strong track record of profitable growth within different business streams and markets. He also has extensive experience in leading diverse teams through his various roles.
Carlton works with businesses in the Support Services sector, including Commercial Cleaning, Building Maintenance and Facilities Management.
Terry is an ex Managing Director of a large blue chip company involved in print, packaging, labeling, application machinery, robotics, and bar coding. The company employed 2,400 people in the UK and 4,500 overseas.
He spent time in the USA with an International Training Group delivering seminars on management retention and recruitment, sales training, and sales management training, to American audiences in seventeen cities across the USA. He has experience also in the European, Asian and Arabic market.
Terry is one of the founder members and currently Managing Director of ibd Business Advice Group Ltd, a network of highly skilled ex managing directors and ex-directors who specialise in assisting small and medium sized companies improve profitability and productivity.
Terry is passionate about mentoring for small and medium sized companies and would like to see the ABM grow and become ‘the place to go’ when a small or medium sized company thinks of mentoring. One of the main tasks is to get the ABM recognised as a professional mentoring association by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the IOD, the FSB, and other major associations and institutions.
Terry is also a visiting lecturer at The University of Chester.
